As part of Bupa's ongoing commitment to its care homes, Pentland Hill has recently completed an extensive £600,000 refurbishment programme.

Pentland Hill is situated in Corstorphine, a residential area of Edinburgh, with shops within walking distance and on a local bus route. The home has been completely modernised throughout, including an upgrade of all facilities.

The home comprises of four houses; two providing nursing care and two providing dementia care. Each house has its own lounge and dining area which have been fully refurbished with new décor, carpets, furniture and soft furnishings and provide residents with a comfortable environment to socialise, watch television or entertain guests. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and have access to large landscaped gardens. Most have also undergone a full refurbishment and some now offer flat screen televisions with freeview channels, internet access, telephone access and modern safety features.

Daily activities are an important part of life at Pentland Hill and include gardening, games, arts and crafts, trips to local places of interest in and around the city and specific activities tailored for residents with dementia. Pentland Hill also offers care to older people with physical disabilities.

Each home has an activities organiser to provide stimulating and interesting activities, taking account of residents' interests. There is always a varied menu of fresh, nutritious food, but special dietary or cultural needs will always be catered for.
