This elegant cream stucco Queen Anne-style house is set in a picturesque nine acre estate of beautiful National Trust countryside near the village of West Horsley. Designed by Harry Goodhart Rendel and built in 1910, it forms part of the Hatchlands Estate, the family home of Admiral Boscawen. It is also conveniently situated for friends and relatives, just a few minutes drive from the A3 and M25. This welcoming and comfortable home retains its original character, including hand-carved fireplaces, decorative friezes, and elegant proportions. Fine food is enjoyed in a dining room featuring graceful columns and garden views. Many bedrooms have views over the grounds, and most offer en-suite facilities for privacy and convenience. Daily activities are offered, and there is a separate activities room for residents' use. Personal interests are encouraged, including embroidery, painting, cooking, gardening and woodwork. Guest speakers and piano recitals are other popular events. Dene Place is currently undergoing a refurbishment programme, completion due July 2008. Call 01483 282 733 to arrange a viewing without obligation. |
