Canning Court Nursing Home is a new, purpose built nursing home due to open Autumn 2009. It is situated in a residential area of Stratford-upon-Avon close to local shops and amenities.
Canning Court has been designed specifically to meet the needs of elderly residents diagnosed with dementia, and will extend over two floors. Each of the 64 single bedrooms will have has en-suite facilities with a hand basin, WC and shower. Each bedroom will have a flat-screen television and access to freeview, telephone points, 24-hour nurse call systems and some of the ground floor rooms will offer patio access. Modern safety features will be fitted in each room and include a 24 hour nurse call system, thermostatic control and smoke detectors. The under floor heating system will add an extra dimension of comfort.
The home will have a dedicated activities room and offer a range of organised activities such as arts and crafts, gardening, music, exercise - residents will also be encouraged to progress personal hobbies and interests. Additional services, such as a hair salon, will be available.
The lounges and dining rooms will be comfortable and well furnished, providing a meeting place for residents to relax and entertain guests. We know how important it is to keep in touch with friends and relatives, so our door will be always open.
At Canning Court we will be able to offer care to suit individual needs: long-term care for those who need daily specialist nursing dementia care, respite dementia care to enable carers to take a much deserved break, and post-operative care.
