Huntington's Disease

Huntington's disease (HD) is a hereditary disorder of the central nervous system. It is caused by a faulty gene on chromosome 4. This faulty gene leads to damage of the nerve cells in areas of the brain, leading in turn to gradual physical, mental and emotional changes.

We have specialist Huntington's Disease provision at:

Colonia Court Residential and Nursing Home, Colchester, Essex
Himley Mill Nursing Home, Dudley, West Midlands

Some other homes are also able to offer care to people with Huntington's Disease, and you may wish to speak to your local home to check. Search for your local care home.
